IMMIGRATION FORMALITIES ON ARRIVAL

The arriving passenger has to present his/her valid passport at the Immigration counter along with the dis-embarkation slip (Citizens of  Nepal, Bhutan & Maldives are exempted from Indian VISA for a brief stay upto 90 days).   If the arriving passenger is a foreigner he should possess a VALID INDIAN VISA. Arrival immigration seal will be stamped on the passport. Passenger has to ensure the stamping of this seal on his passport. If the VISA is valid for more than 180 days, the person should report to the concerned Foreigners Registration Officer (F.R.O) for Registration.

Children of Indian Origin upto age group of 12 years are allowed to land in India without VISA for a period of  90 days and on arrival Temporary Landing Permit (T.L.P) can be issued to such minor children on payment of T.L.P fee of U.S $30, payable at the Reserve Bank of India (R.B.I) through the F.R.O.


IMMIGRATION FORMALITIES BEFORE DEPARTURE

FOR INDIANS
The passenger has to present his valid passport, valid foreign VISA, Boarding Card & Embarkation Slip at the counter, (For passengers to Hongkong and Bangkok visas will be issued on arrival. For Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives, VISA is exempted for a brief visit of 90 days).  Visit to Pakistan, Bangladesh, Europe except 13 Commonwealth Independence State (C.I.S) countries like North America,             New Zealand, Australia & Japan are generally exempted from the requirement of E.C.R. i.e. Emmigration Check Not Required (E.C.N.R) stamp on their passports by Protector of Emmigrants (P.O.E) or the concerned Regional Passport Officer (R.P.O).

FOREIGNERS
Foreigners have to present their valid Passport and Indian Visas (Residential Permit/Exit Permit in case of registered foreigners), Boarding Card and Embarkation slip at the counter.
The passenger has to ensure stamping of Departure and Immigration stamp on his passport and Boarding card, before moving to the next counter.
